I See Myself In You

Making images of other Black artists is enriching for many reasons.

It’s an inevitable self portrait.

It’s representation and inspiration.

As a child, a Black artist wasn’t a tangible reality for me.

Of course I saw musicians, rappers, and many people’s Black artistic reference point: Basquiat.

But I never really saw in person or met Black visual artists.

Always remember the influence you have on those around you and the youth just by being an example of what’s possible.
